NYC itineraries for group trips
A Bachelor or Bachelorette party NYC style
The Lower East Side (LES)
A bachelor or bachelorette party in NYC will enjoy the upbeat atmosphere of Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
Stay at Hotel Indigo and enjoy the rooftop pool or the posh Mr. Purple Restaurant and Bar on the 15th Floor.
Nearby, the Backroom is one of the only Prohibition-era speakeasies still in operation, and it’s worth a visit to drink beer in a paper bag or cocktails in teacups and pretend like it’s the 1920s. Beauty and Essex is a staple NYC bar and catching a show at Pianos is a perfect way to celebrate with the Bachelor or Bachelorette.
When you need to refuel (or cure your hangover) try Cafe Medi, Clinton Street Bakery, or Bolton and Watt. If you can’t live without a pastrami on rye, the infamous Katz’s Delicatessen is around the corner. But grab-and-go Russ and Daughters is the real MVP for bagels with schmear and lox.
The Lower East Side is perfect for indulging in the city’s best food and nightlife for your bachelor or bachelorette party in NYC.
Girls’ trip in NYC
Meatpacking
We’re not sure whether it’s the Sex and the City vibes or what, but there’s nothing quite like a Girl’s Trip to New York City.
Stay at the Gansevoort in the Meatpacking District to be centrally located between the best of Chelsea and the West Village. This posh hotel has a great rooftop bar which is always a great place to start or end a night. You’re only a couple quick subway stops from Time’s Square and the best of Broadway. Catch one of the classics like Phantom of the Opera or the Lion King for a once-in-a-lifetime NYC Girl’s Trip experience.
In the morning, hit up Cookshop for indulgent egg dishes at brunch with mimosas or a ‘BLT’ Bloody Mary before exploring Chelsea Market. Make sure to head all the way through the market to the Artists & Fleas near 10th Avenue where local vendors sell their fares. After, take a walk along the Highline, a raised pedestrian-only platform that has been converted into a park.
Spend another day in the West Village. You will get lost here so try to embrace the grid-less Manhattan by popping into all the tiny cafes and shops you’ll stumble upon.
For the Girl’s Trips finale, get dressed up and head to the Boom Boom Room for a very NYC evening of cocktails and music. This is one of our favorite NYC itineraries for letting your hair down.
Guys’ trip to NYC
NoMad
Nestled between the Empire State Building and the Flatiron Building, stay at the Roger Hotel where you’ll find a vaulted lobby lounge and fitness center. Here, you’ll be situated perfectly in the center of the city on 31st and Madison.
The hotel is technically located in Nomad, but it puts you in walking distance of our favorite Guy’s Trip activities. From the hotel you’re a 15-minute walk to Madison Square Garden where you don’t have to be a Rangers or Knicks fan to appreciate catching a game in this iconic venue.
Nearby Gramercy Park is home to some of New York’s most tried-and-true laidback bars.
Open since 1864, Pete’s Tavern is great for a lunchtime burger and beer and an integral part of Nyc itineraries, no matter the occasion. If you’re around on Football Sunday (or for any televised sports you can’t miss,) The Ainsworth is slightly more upscale but perfect for all things chicken wings and optimized sports-viewing.
At night, 230 Fifth Avenue is home to New York’s largest outdoor rooftop and garden and mainly hosts a younger, ready-to-party crowd.
Make sure to head to the village for a night of Stand Up at the Comedy Cellar. Go to the last show of the night for the best chance of catching famous performers. Grab dinner and quality cocktails at Cafe Dante around the corner before or after the show.
New York family vacation (with small children)
Park Slope
In a city that is just as much a playground for adults as it is for kids, New York is perfect for families traveling with children of all ages. Staying in Park Slope offers a more laidback family vibe while still having easy-access to Manhattan.
Families can make a day of heading up to the Natural History Museum, FAO Schwarz, and the Central Park Zoo. Nearby there’s also a Children’s Museum of Manhattan with plenty of hands-on exhibits for all ages.
The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Brooklyn Public Library, and Prospect Park are great options nearby to Park Slope.
Historic South Street Seaport is just across the Brooklyn Bridge (you can even walk it!). The seaport is beloved by children, and adults will appreciate the beautiful old architecture and the 200+ year old history, like at the Fulton Fish Market.
On the Brooklyn Side of the Bridge, wander the piers at Brooklyn Bridge Park which include a mini-water park during summer, along with a carousel, picnicking areas, free movies on the lawn, and much more.
In addition, it will only take about 30 minutes to get from Park Slope to spend a day of family fun at Coney Island by hopping on the F train.
NYC Itineraries for Couples Trips
Williamsburg
Stay at the Williamsburg Hotel where you can venture up to the converted water tower on the building’s roof to have a drink at one of the most playfully unique bars in Brooklyn.
Choose a night to head to the McKittrick Hotel where you can attend a performance of Sleep No More. Even though you should not spend the majority of the event with your significant other, Sleep No More is actually a great experience for couples. The beauty lies in discussing your shared and unique experiences from the evening afterwards over cocktails. St. Mazies in Williamsburg is a great bar for couples.
The next day, wander Bedford and pop into the quirky shops before enjoying dinner at Maison Premiere, an Oyster Bar-meets-Southern Food restaurant with a great wine list and a beautiful outdoor garden.
